Hello I'm Liza. I work from a dedicated ground floor room at my home in South Norfolk. You can park outside and there is a toilet available. I aim to offer an inclusive service. I have worked alongside LGBTQ+ people both personally and professionally. I am a UKCP registered psychotherapist.
I aim to provide a safe, non-judgemental space where you will feel listened to; where you can explore, learn and experience emotional growth; and where you reach a greater awareness and understanding of the issues that brought you to counselling.
I offer an initial session for you to share what has brought you to counselling and to think about what you would like to gain from it. It is also an opportunity for me to ask for the information that I need to consider whether what I have to offer is likely to be helpful to you.
It is just as important that you feel comfortable with me, as it is that I feel able to work with you. Counselling is a collaborative process and the relationship between client and counsellor is a crucial part of this.
We will agree at this stage whether we want to proceed to work together. This can be on an ongoing basis or for an agreed number of sessions.
To discuss if counselling may be helpful to you and to book an initial session, please call to arrange an appointment. If I am unable to answer the phone, please do leave a message and I will return your call as soon as I can. You can also email or text me. I will aim to get back to you within 48 hours.
Training, qualifications & experience
As well as my private practice, I have worked as a voluntary counsellor at TimeNorfolk (a charity for people who have experienced pregnancy loss), at the UEA with their students and I currently volunteer at St. Barnabas Counselling Centre in Norwich.
I have an Integrative Counselling BSc (Hons) Degree and engage in Continued Professional Development, have regular clinical supervision and am DBS checked.
Before I trained as a counsellor I worked in the law, education, housing and homelessness.
