About me
Perhaps Life feels overwhelming at the moment? Maybe you feel that you could benefit from taking time-out to explore your thoughts and feelings? I offer time out to talk, confidentially, without judgement.
There are times, in all our lives, that we struggle and life feels overwhelming. Events from the past, problems today and concerns about the future can all make life challenging. Sometimes we need support and encouragement to work through our difficulties or just feel that we would benefit from talking things through.
Finding someone you can trust to talk to isn't always easy. It isn't always possible to turn to family or friends. Talking through your problems with a professional Counsellor can help you to see things more clearly, make choices and move forward.
I work with clients of all ages, genders and backgrounds. The challenges that I have worked with clients to address include: anxiety and panic attacks, depression, bereavement, grief and loss, family and relationship issues, abuse, health concerns, guilt and shame, workplace stress, career change, redundancy, anger management, low self esteem.
Whatever your reason for seeking counselling, I hope you will find me welcoming and understanding with a genuine desire to help. My aim is create a calm, encouraging, empowering environment where you have an opportunity to be heard and understood.
I appreciate that you may find it challenging to reach out and arrange a meeting. If you are unsure about whether Counselling is right for you, please feel free to contact me to arrange a conversation to help you decide.
Training, qualifications & experience
I believe that we are all individuals with unique backgrounds, influences and life experiences. My training has encompassed a wide variety of therapeutic models which allows me to tailor my approach to the specific needs of each client.
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Leeds Beckett University which is accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I am a registered member of the BACP and work to their Ethical Framework. I attend regular supervision in line with their guidelines which ensures that my work meets their professional standards. In addition I regularly undertake additional training to stay up to date with new developments and enhance my practice.
Before I trained as a therapist I worked in a number of demanding roles within private sector organisations and charities. I therefore have a particular interest in helping clients who are experiencing difficulties with work-place stress.
