Liz Anderton UKCP Reg.
As an experienced therapist I find a lot of people take that courageous step of seeking therapy because of depression, anxiety, relationship issues or abuse though it is also true there are as many individual reasons as there are people.
I am a trained and accredited psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist based in Sutton Coldfield very near to the cross city train line so easily accessible from Lichfield and Birmingham -Five Ways, Selly Oak, Bournville.
I have 17 years experience working in a variety of settings including in the NHS in an Adult Psychological Therapies team. I now run my own independent practice.
The kind of therapy I offer is about helping you to come to a better, deeper understanding yourself and your inner world. It is not directive, not a quick-fix, I will not tell you what to do or not do, I do not send you away with 'homework.' I see therapy as a journey of personal growth, self development and discovery upon which I accompany you for as long as you find it helpful.
I offer supervision and particularly enjoy working with trainee counsellors.

Taking it further
After an initial brief telephone conversation we will have the opportunity to meet for an appointment to see how we would feel working together. This would be your chance to see how it feels being with me and for me to see if I think I have something to offer you. If, then, we wish to proceed we would make regular on-going weekly appointments. I also see some people twice a week.
