About me

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (registration number: 343279).

Are you struggling with anxiety or depression, experiencing relationship difficulties or feelings of low self-esteem? Maybe you are going through life-changing events such as bereavement, divorce, long-term illness or feelings of being stuck and not knowing how to move forwards?

What is counselling?

‘Counselling and psychotherapy are umbrella terms that cover a range of talking therapies. They are delivered by trained practitioners who work with people over a short or long term to help them bring about effective change or enhance wellbeing.’  (BACP)

How I Work

I offer a supportive, non-judgemental space where we can work through your anxieties and concerns together.  A place to unpick the knots.  A place to soothe the mind and quieten the noise.

I recognise how our past can resonate down the years to affect the here and now and my focus is to support each client’s unique exploration of their feelings, relationships, hopes and fears both in the past and present so that they can live more fulfilling lives.

In my practice, I combine aspects of my humanistic, relational and psychodynamic training.

I also find that mindfulness, awareness of thoughts, feelings, body sensations and the world around us, can help clients get back in touch with themselves and enjoy simple pleasures in the moment.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (registration number: 343279) and as such adhere to their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

What Next?

Please feel free to call me (07740 306 266) to talk confidentially about your needs and to discuss any questions you may have.

Alternatively you can email me at lisawinfieldtherapy@gmail.com

We can arrange a suitable time to meet for a preliminary assessment session where we can discuss what you would like to get out of counselling and if you feel we could work together.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
