About me

I am a qualified Psychotherapist and Counsellor; I’m an accredited member with The National Counselling Society (NCS) and a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and work to their code of ethics. I am client and goal focused, this means that we work together to find a solution to your problem that works for you, I do not offer a one size fits all type therapy, I focus on you as a client and we work towards an end goal so that you can decide on what you want to achieve from your therapy and from each session.

There are many ways in which I help a client move forward positively, focusing on mindset and behaviour, using CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) as well as various techniques to help release negative emotions safely, this gives us a variety of ways to approach your treatment plan that allows you to choose the way that you would like your own therapy to continue.

I offer a relaxed and discreet therapy setting to help you feel more comfortable while discussing issues that are currently affecting you, it is important that you feel at ease and that each session works at a pace that you are happy with, we do not explore any issues or situations that you are not comfortable in addressing, it goes without saying that all information is kept strictly private and confidential.

I know that having a safe environment to offload past and present issues is extremely important and I continue my training so that I can provide the safety and the techniques to help my clients further, I also attend regular counselling supervision to oversee my work with clients and have professional liability insurance to cover our working together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold an Advanced Professional Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy as well as a Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy.

I have worked in Private Practice for over 8 years, I also have experience working in a counselling setting within a University and a Senior School. I have worked in the 3rd Sector for a local Breast Cancer Charity and now volunteer and run the mental health hub at Canolfan Pentre.

I work with a range of issues such as;

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • bereavement
  • emotional eating disorders
  • anger issues
  • confidence & self esteem
  • relationship Issues.

BACP

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
