About me

Hello my name is Lisa Rowe,

I am a friendly, caring and passionate Qualified Humanistic Counsellor, I specialise in Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy. I offer individual's one to one weekly Counselling sessions for short term or long term.

Counselling is a therapy which involves talking for you to explore your feelings and thoughts. I abide by the British Association Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) ethical framework for good practice.

I will provide you with a safe and supportive, confidential and non-judgemental environment, a space for you to explore any issues or problems that you may have and I will listen to you empathically.

I work with individual's who have many issues such as, struggling to cope with depression, anxiety, work related stress, trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), sexual, physical, psychological and emotional abuse, childhood sexual abuse, psychosexual, homicidal thoughts, suicidal thoughts, identity issues, sexuality issues and mental health illnesses.

Also as a Bereavement Counsellor I have experience working with Bereaved individuals. Feeling bereaved may not always involve loosing a loved one, it can be a loss of a job, of a home, going through divorce or a loss of themselves.

I also have a Diploma in Psychosexual Therapy, where I work with client's and their aftermath of childhood sexual abuse and rape regarding painful sex (Vaginismus, dyspareunia) and other symptoms. Also I work with erectile dysfunction problems, premature ejaculation, penetration issues, loss of sexual desire, fear and anxiety around sex, orgasm difficulties, sex addiction and porn addiction(s).

I have a Diploma in Criminal Psychology, that covers the acts/behaviours of criminals/offenders, profiling, policing and imprisonment.

I hope we can work together in a therapeutic relationship for you to remain the expert and to gather a better understanding of yourself as well as the problems that you bring. I am unable to give you any advice, however I would like to be there for you for you to make such decisions or changes and to share your journey

I can understand that contacting a Counsellor can be difficult, I would like to say that you are not alone.

Please contact me via e-mail or telephone. I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
