About me

I’m a Solution Focused Integrative Therapist who can support and coach you to optimum mental, emotional and physical health. My approach is person centred and I adapt the service to you as an individual depending on your individual needs. I draw upon a variety of methodologies including Counselling, Psychotherapy, Coaching,  NLP and applied Neuroscience.

I'm a science driven, fact based therapist passionate about brain health which drives physical and emotional wellbeing. I can help you understand the mind-body connection, the link between brain and body health (emotionally, physically and mentally) and support you to overcome stress, depression, anxiety and to develop resilience, confidence and greater self-esteem.

I trained as a person centred therapist and began my counselling journey working in the areas of mental health and addiction. Over the years I have continued to study and expand my knowledge in order to best help my clients. I now work with adults who are feeling stuck and stressed and who want to build their resilience, confidence and self-esteem. I have also worked with young people as a school counsellor and continue to offer services to young people in my private practice.

Deciding to engage in therapy can be a daunting process and I know how important it is to find the right person for you.  If you would like to have a chat, please drop me an email and we will arrange to have a brief chat on the phone or zoom (free of charge).  This gives us the opportunity to introduce ourselves and for you to ask questions about how it all works.  If we decide to move forward, we will discuss various options of how often the sessions will take place.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Here's what other people have said about working with me:

I came to Lisa very lost and in a difficult place, struggling with health anxiety, depression, trauma, and a multitude of other issues that impacted my ability to enjoy life. I am now in a completely different place. Lisa’s approach to mental health is revolutionary. I have been in and out of 'mental health services' since I was very young, and I was in a cycle of being treated, feeling ok for a bit, and then tumbling back down. I was always ‘waiting’ for the anxiety or depression to return. My whole life I had felt a victim to my trauma, but through my learnings from Lisa I have found a balance of having compassion for myself, ways to process my emotions and connect, but also taking control of my life whilst changing my entire view of myself. Lisa is very attentive and shared so much knowledge and resources with me that I can still utilise despite our sessions being finished. Nothing ever felt unmanageable with Lisa, as she helped me incorporate tools and techniques into my life to enable me to manage all challenges.
I just feel balanced now. I now love myself and the person I have become since working with Lisa, it who I was always meant to be with no longer living in fear of my emotions. I couldn’t recommend her enough, she is a warm and welcoming individual, who is highly knowledgeable and wise. I just can’t believe the shell of myself that I was only a year ago, to the joyful, happy, loving, driven and positive person I am now. I feel very excited for this next chapter in my life, thank you Lisa!” - Els, Bristol                                             ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I knew for a long time that I needed to seek support to help me deal with underlying issues that I had been carrying with me for many years, I was anxious, lacked confidence and needed to address past traumas that I had not let go of. Meeting Lisa has been one of the best things I have ever done. She instantly put me at ease and I have always felt able to talk freely with her, I have always felt safe and understood. Lisa has really helped me to address my issues and uncover why I feel the way I do. She has shown me a new path and equipped me with tools to help me cope and extinguish some of the negative patterns that affect me. I now feel more confident and in control of my life, I feel happier and more content and I approach life much more positively. I would highly recommend Lisa to anyone and you can most definitely trust her to support you on your journey. It is a really scary step but definitely worth taking. Thank you Lisa!” - Emma, Bristol                                                                                                              ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Therapy has always been something I’ve had a troubled relationship with; scepticism being a key factor. Before I started my sessions with Lisa I experiences some difficult years which completely altered my life on a day to day basis. I was struggling to manage my emotions and rationalise thought processes that used to come naturally to me; I was heavily encouraged to reach out to Lisa due to family connections and wouldn’t have done so on my own accord. The process of getting to know Lisa and her work ethic was something I found challenging due to my own barriers I was purposely putting up but after patience on both parties we managed to find a good relationship that worked well for both.
After five months of working with Lisa I have been able to access routines and mindsets that I never deemed possible. For context of the reader, I suffer from severe Anxiety and Body Dysmorphia - having had complicated relationships with both for years. Lisa managed to help me understand these conditions more and more each session and has given me appropriate tools that gives me the confidence to function on a day to day basis more so than before. For anyone who feels sceptical and overwhelmed by the concept of therapy, Lisa has a brilliant ability to access things at a pace that suits you whilst challenging your mind to think in ways you didn’t think it could. I highly recommend Lisa.” Ryan, Watford

I was initially very unsure about the process behind finding a counsellor, but after hearing Lisa speak at a public event I was really impressed and made direct contact. From the first phone call Lisa put me at ease and genuinely made me feel like it was going to be something I could do. As time went on I found her to be someone I could talk to, trust and respect which was very important to me. She was quick to understand me as a person and offered practical ideas and strategies which I was able to use in my everyday life and work. I would highly recommend Lisa to anyone who is feeling similar about making the decision to talk with someone and take that really important first step.” Vicky, Cheltenham
