Lisa Eringer MBACP, PGDip, BSc - Psychotherapist
Found yourself struggling in life with a current situation or as a result of deeper rooted experiences and issues? I offer a safe, confidential, warm, non-judgmental and caring space where these things can be explored together in order to alleviate emotional pain and distress.
As a psychotherapist my approach is existential, working together to enable an opening up to exploring your experiences of the world by providing a safe and non-judgmental environment. Through an exploration of your relationships, fears, and experiences a greater understanding and acceptance of the self can happen.
I like to think of the therapeutic process, like the unpicking of a knot in a fine metal chain, pointing to a place, pulling it out, seeing where it leads and where you can take it in the hope of disentanglement. Something that needs to be done gently and at the right pace, using intuition and patience. I think that my style of working is to really appreciate your uniqueness, the uniqueness of your knot. To listen and try to understand your unique experiences and perspectives on life and see if we can find a way to collaborate together for you to be able to start to disentangle yourself. And journey into bringing about more awareness, calm, and presence that will help you towards living a happier more fulfilling life.
I have worked with a wide variety of clients who have struggled with anxiety, depression, sexual, physical and emotional abuse, addiction, alcoholism, sexuality, loss, bereavement, meaninglessness, eating disorders, disability, OCD, hoarding, work related stress, & fertility.

Training, qualifications & experience
I am a registered MBACP and insured psychotherapist working from my practice in Hampstead (North West London). My approach to therapy is primarily Existential although much of my training has been integrative which means it incorporates Psychoanalytic theory and Person-Centred approaches which have all formed my understanding of the therapeutic process.
My style of working is to listen to you in order to gain an understanding of your experience of the world, what your issues or defences are that may be hindering you or causing difficulty in your life. And working together to find a way of acknowledging and understanding them so that you may find it possible to find an alternative way of being, alleviating stress, anxiety, or feelings of sadness.

My standard fee is £70 per session but lower fees may be available depending on your circumstances.
For some people the idea of starting therapy can be quite frightening and I hope to make this process as easy for you as possible.
In our initial session you can tell me about what brings you to therapy, some of the issues you might be having or have had in the past and where you would like to go from here. You can tell me as much or as little as you like, we will go at your pace. I can also tell you a bit more about how I work and it will give us a chance to see how we feel about working together.
Sessions are usually weekly, at the same time and day, and for 50 minutes. I offer either time limited or open ended therapy which we can discuss in our initial session. I am available for sessions Monday to Friday 8am – 9.30pm.
I understand the decision to seek therapy can be daunting so if you have any questions please feel free to contact me and from there we can talk about arranging for a free no obligation initial session.
