Lisa Eringer MBACP, PGDip, BSc
I offer a safe, confidential, warm, non-judgmental and caring space where we can explore together what is troubling you in order to alleviate emotional pain and distress.
I am experienced in working with a wide variety of people who have struggled with anxiety, depression, sexual, physical and emotional abuse, addiction, alcoholism, sexuality, loss, bereavement, meaninglessness, eating disorders, disability, OCD, hoarding, work related stress, & fertility. I have more specifically worked in services that provide counselling for alcohol abuse and for victims of domestic abuse and trauma.
My style of working is to listen to you in order to gain an understanding of your experience of the world, what your issues or defences are that may be hindering you or causing difficulty in your life. And working together to find a way of acknowledging and understanding them so that you may find it possible to find an alternative way of being, alleviating stress, anxiety, or feelings of sadness.
In our initial session you can tell me about what brings you to therapy, some of the issues you might be having or have had in the past and where you would like to go from here. You can tell me as much or as little as you like, we will go at your pace. I can also tell you a bit more about how I work and it will give us a chance to see how we feel about working together.
I understand the decision to seek therapy can be daunting so if you have any questions please feel free to contact me and from there we can talk about arranging a session.
