When trying to manage our busy lives, we can all experience emotional or psychological difficulties that can have an impact on our relationships with others, our working relationships and on our general well-being. Sometimes it is difficult to talk to our friends and family about these difficulties.
I started my career working within substance abuse in the voluntary sector and also within NHS. I gained experience as Bereavement Counsellor for a national charity as well as Domestic Violence & Abuse counselling for a local charitable organisation. In each organisation clients often had depression or anxiety, or other conditions along side there initial presenting problems.
I have extensive practice experience working with Depression, Anxiety, Bereavement & Loss, Domestic Violence and Abuse, as well successful client outcomes working with and Panic Attacks, Confidence, Self-esteem, Gambling & Drug Addiction.
I offer face to face short term solution focused therapy as well as long term counselling. I also offer telephone counselling, video counselling and life coaching. I am able to let go of my theoretical assumptions to be able to just sit with the client in a supportive and reflective space which sometimes is all that is needed for some client issues. But most of all I will help you to be kinder to yourself which in itself can boost self esteem and confidence.
I create a warm, safe and non-judgmental space where we will work together to explore your individual issues and concerns. This can require courage from clients and may also be challenging at times, but it can lead to a greater understanding of themselves and lead to a more fulfilling and wholesome life.
Working together we will explore thoughts, feelings and behaviours in relation to the presenting concerns, as well as exploring childhood and past experiences. I use a range strategies which are tailored for each clients individual needs. These can include relaxation and mindfulness techniques, thought diaries, identifying unhelpful thinking patterns and a range of behavioural tasks.
All of the work can be transferred into practice outside of the therapy room and help us to be mindful of what is going on for us in our busy lives.
Counselling can help with most life issues and concerns.
You may be looking here as you considering online video counselling.
We lead busy lives so a therapy session in your own is more accessible and affordable to you. It may seem strange to start with but just as you facetime or skype friends, you will feel more comfortable each time you use it.A lot of clients find that it just as comfortable and effective as a face to face meeting.
You may be asking… will this affect how the therapy is delivered to me. The answer is no, you will get the same service as face to face counselling. We will still create a therapeutic working alliance where it will be your safe space to explore your concerns.
Please look at my website regarding confidentiality and video counselling.
If you would like to ask any more questions, please feel free to contact me.
If you would like to go ahead with video counselling a 30-minute telephone pre-therapy consultation is offered for free. Or if you prefer, a 30 minute video pre-therapy consultation is offered for £15. These give us the opportunity to see if we are both comfortable working with each other. Any further video counselling sessions are £25.00 for 50-minutes. Fees will be payable before each pre therapy/ therapy session begins.
