About me

Online or telephone sessions only.

I am an experienced counsellor and supervisor with a background in Mental Health and Addiction. Whilst working for Mind as a counsellor I gained knowledge and an understanding of the wide spectrum of mental health and its impact. At CGL I worked therapeutically with adults in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.

I also work in education as a family practitioner with Place2be.

Every person is unique and due to my training and background I am able to offer different types of therapy. I am a Person Centred counsellor at core but I have had training in CBT and short term focused therapy. I offer a warm, friendly and non-judgemental environment in which to work with both adults and children.

Whatever brings clients to therapy, I aim to facilitate their own self awareness through the development of a trusting and supportive counselling relationship, and to assist them in becoming more self empowered and feeling more in control of their own lives. My main interest is in uncovering unconscious core beliefs which cause us unnecessary suffering and limit our growth, and working towards integrating new ways of being into our lives. With awareness, we can begin to free ourselves from our past conditioning and become more present in our everyday lives and connect at a deeper and more fulfilling way with ourselves, each other and the world around us.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
