Lindsey Bourn. Dip.Couns. Registered MBACP
Welcome and thank you for visiting my page. Choosing a therapist can often be a daunting prospect so allow me to tell you a little about myself. I am a qualified BACP registered therapist and I work from our Private Practice in Towcester and also work from my therapy room in in North Marston (close to Aylesbury & Buckingham).
I have experience of working with adults from all walks of life in both long and short-term therapy. Having worked within the Prison system for several years, I have gained significant insight and skills from working with young adults in particular.
We can often feel alone and overwhelmed with our thoughts and worries and it can be difficult to express these concerns and feelings with those who are closest to us. I provide a safe space where you can simply be yourself, and be free to express whatever is troubling you without fear of judgement, in a quiet, calm and confidential setting.
I work integratively which means that I am able to draw upon a range of counselling theories to work with you in a way that is unique to your particular needs. I have experience of working with a wide variety of issues, the main issues being anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss, low self-esteem, relationship breakdowns and sexual abuse.
Taking the first step
It can take courage to look for help and if you're reading this then you have already taken the first step to helping yourself. If you would like to get in touch, please contact me by email or phone and we'll arrange a time to speak and discuss how we might work together (this will involve no obligation on your part).
Afterwards, if you'd like to proceed, we can arrange a time to meet for an initial session. The aim of this first meeting is for me to understand more from you about the circumstances that have brought you to this point and what your goals might be, but it also gives me the opportunity to explain what you might expect from the process of working together.
