About me

If you have been through a trauma, something that rocks your world and leaves you feeling like you don't know where the safe ground is anymore, this is what I have experience with.  I have worked with grief and trauma for two decades, together we can walk through your pain, make sense of how your feeling and find a way through.

I moved into private practice after over a decade setting up and running bereavement services for children and adults in Hospices, as well as working with many agencies dealing with sever and complex trauma.  The year before the pandemic my little girl got ill, and as the pandemic hit, we went into shielding.  I had to choose between the role I loved and keeping my child safe.  I decided to go into private practice working from home and have loved it.  Through this work I have got to support so many people during these difficult and traumatic times.  I am incredibly proud to have supported many traumatically bereaved people during the lockdowns, through

I didn't choose my specialism, it chose me.  In the past two decades I have worked with many organisations, but always trauma and loss has been part of the work.  It was therefore natural to move into private practice and specialise in this area.  I have or course lots of experience with many other issues, but time and again this was the one that found me.

When I'm not working, I can be found, getting well away from the computer screen, travelling around in my old camper van with my children.  As a single parent I don't get much time for any other hobbies, but my yoga and mindfulness practice has served me very well through these turbulent times!

I love my job and I'd love to go on this journey with you, so to get started contact me today and lets start work together.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
