About me

Welcome

What do you do if you are experiencing high anxiety or uncomfortable with how you are feelings or overwhelmed by your circumstances?

Fed up with feeling low that nothings seems worth it.

Where do you go if you are feeling the pressure from home or at work, panicked about how you are feeling or you are not sure how to cope or manage everyday life events ?

Who do you talk to about the real issues that matter to you, not the stuff that makes conversations end like 'i'm fine' but the things that creates a conversation that goes on to be one that is significant and heard?

Here is where you can start to make changes

Understanding how to manage your feelings, understanding how and why important decision are difficult to make, learning how to think in a way that makes life easier to handle.

I use techniques and models to help people understand why their body responds in the way it does, as this is usually the scariest part of feeling out of control. I can help you put it all back in control, anxiety, stress, anger, sadness, abandonment, rejection, shame. Supporting people to overcome life’s adversities, guiding them through addictive behaviours without fear of judgment, feeling heard and not just listened to, showing understanding in a life that seems not to make sense.

I have a keen interest in working with people that are living with autism and addictions as well as anxiety and depression and have had good feedback regarding the work that I have carried out over the years.

I do all of this through not just talking, but listening and a great deal of humour, or we can be creative or as chilled and dialled back as you want it to be. We will explore the barriers that are holding you back. I have been empowering client to take back control for over 25 years now and still love every minute of it.

All I need you to do is believe that you have the capacity to change and make a difference.

Please feel free to contact me by email text or phone call and I will do my best to contact you within a couple of hours and happy to have phone call to discuss your situation and for you to ask any questions.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

I have established a great method of working with Aspergers and those diagnosed with Autism and it has been really successful with helping those affected in understanding how to self regulate symptoms of discomfort which often result in stressful outcomes.

I

I also have extensive knowledge and experience in Sand Play therapy.

This is a powerful tool for adults as well as children as it focuses on our inner self and supports our decision making and healthy life choices using symbols, figures and sand

Ideal for cases where the issues are not necessarily consciously present, but discomfort is being experienced within their life.
