Hi, my name is Lindsay, I’m a qualified counsellor based in Poynton. I am a highly empathic person who is passionate about working with clients to explore personal difficulty in a confidential and supportive environment, where you will feel heard and accepted.
Its normal to experience difficult times in our lives where we feel lost and struggle to find a way forwards. It's ok to ask for help and support and therapy provides you with an opportunity to work together with a trained professional to move forwards in your life with purposeful direction.
I will help you through the process of self-discovery to enable you to move forwards as I understand through my own experiences the feeling of being lost and being unable to find direction. Having experienced the positive benefits of self-discovery and finding my identity I am well placed to support you on this journey.
My areas of experience include bereavement and loss, sexual abuse, anxiety, depression, self-worth and identify.
As an integrative counsellor I take the view that every person is unique, and the counselling techniques used will differ dependant on your individual needs and personal circumstances. I use CBT techniques to help clients identify unhelpful thinking styles or patterns in behaviour which helps clients to see what they want and how realistic that is to achieve, setting goals to ensure positive change. I use Person-Centred when working more in depth with clients and work with emotion to help identify and experienced the benefits of working in depth with clients to pave the way for self-discovery and growth. I also use creative therapy within my sessions, to enable clients to draw on their experiences, bringing them to life.
If you would like to be heard and you need support to move forward through your challenges, and if you would like to make positive changes in your life then please contact me for an informal discussion.
