About me

Hello, I am a Psychodynamic Counsellor/Psychotherapist, Registered and Accredited with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I am based in central Bedfordshire and I offer one to one, short term or open ended Counselling, depending on your individual needs.

Why counselling?
Perhaps,  life feels like a struggle at the moment,  possibly,  due to various changes of circumstances in your life such as, illness, bereavement, loss, relationship, Family issues, or even childhood issues from the past that can still feel difficult to move on from, or let go of.

It may feel very painful,  too embarrassing. or very difficult, to share your innermost thoughts and feelings with family or friends.  Maybe, because they know you, they don't always listen, don't take you seriously, or offer their own opinions and judgements on what you 'should' or 'should not' be doing.

This can leave you feeling overwhelmed and even more confused, anxious, isolated, alone and unable to sort everything out by yourself.

Counselling can offer you a confidential, calm, supported space to express your deeper feelings and concerns without being judged...A quiet space to really think about your life and to understand and work through the issues that may be currently affecting you, with a view to making changes, in order to move forward with your life in a different way.....

Psychodynamic Counselling can also provide an opportunity to discuss and explore past and present issues, make sense of how these past experiences may still be affecting the way you currently cope and behave in your life today and then explore ways to bring about the changes you may need, to make choices that can help you to create a positive difference to your future.

We are all programmed from birth by our caregivers, usually our Parents.....Counselling can be an opportunity to 'unhook', update and change old 'software', patterns and beliefs, formed in childhood, and enable you to make changes that are relevant for your life now, to help you choose and create a more positive future.

Even a small change can make a BIG difference.....

How can I help?

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
