About me

Hello! I am a Person Centred Counsellor based in Christchurch, just between Wisbech and March. I work either via zoom or face to face.  This is a private space, with easy parking and is available for daytime or evening sessions. I have experience working with adults and young people, and I can offer you the space and time to work through things that are causing you anxiety, depression or unhappiness in your life.  These may be current issues, or experiences from the past which are still impacting on your life in a negative way.  I am non judgemental and open, and all sessions are confidential.  I am a registered member of BACP and work within their ethical framework.  I am also a qualified and experienced supervisor for both counsellors and counsellors in training.

My hours of work are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and I have day and evening appointments.  There is some flexibility in the days that I work, but this would be agreed on an individual basis.

Being a very early riser, I am able to offer early morning appointments from 6.30 am.  In the past, these have been popular with shift workers, or those with caring or work commitments.  My last appointment is 8pm.

If you would like to speak to me, without obligation, please do not hesitate to give me a call. If you leave me a message I will do my very best to get back to you the same day. I believe we all have the capacity to make a positive changes to our lives, given the right conditions and support.  As a Person Centred Counsellor, this is what I would like to offer to you.

Training, qualifications & experience

BSc (Hons) in Person Centred Counselling

Member of BACP (MBACP)

Certificate of Counsellor Supervision (OCN)

I have many years experience working with young people who experienced difficulties with behaviour, engagement in education or offending. This included working with young people in custody, mentoring young people on the cusp of offending and supporting young people in schools. I have also worked with the parents of young people who have issues with their behaviour.  I update my safeguarding training yearly and I regularly attend online and in-person CPD sessions that are appropriate to my work.

I spent several years working with victims of domestic abuse, including working with men and women who were in abusive relationships, and those who had managed to survive the abuse, but needed support in moving on with their lives.

I have recently moved to Cambridgeshire and I am looking forward to working with clients both face to face, and via zoom.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
