Linda Dorrington MBACP; Msc Coaching/Counselling/Hypnotherapy
Are you struggling with life? Finding it difficult to cope with all the pressures of the world we live in at the moment? I can help you to explore what is holding you back and to find a way forward towards a better future.
I offer professional Psychotherapy, Counselling, Coaching and Hypnotherapy in Brentwood and surrounding areas of Essex. I am passionate about helping my clients to lead meaningful and happy lives, overcoming any barriers which hold them back, helping them make real and lasting change. I always work with my client, helping them to 'help themselves' which is a much more empowering way to work.
Why Counselling and Coaching combined are so powerful
As a Psychotherapist and Counsellor, I can focus on deep and lasting psychological healing and change whilst also having the skills of a Coach to work in practical ways to help you develop your strengths and plan a better future.
As an experienced Hypnotherapist, this allows me to work at an even deeper level, which can help even more when used together with counselling or coaching.
Over the years, I have helped clients with many issues, in particular anxiety, depression, stress, panic attacks, relationship issues, bereavement, smoking cessation and other issues.
With over 20 years experience in Education, I became very aware of the importance of mental well-being and how stress can impact on the emotional and mental well-being of young people, parents and teachers. This is what led me from teaching to therapy, understanding how important it is for people to be able to express their feelings and to deal with old and current issues before they can move forward with their lives.
Few people escape from some level of anxiety, stress, trauma, broken relationships or bereavement in their lives. I provide a safe space for you to explore the past, express your thoughts and feelings and develop a greater awareness of what is going on in your life, finding your way to a more positive future.
What to expect in your first session.
I provide a supportive confidential space for you to talk through your concerns, to develop a better understanding about yourself and to help you find your own answers. I know it is sometimes difficult taking that first step and will always try to ensure you feel listened to and supported.
We will use our first session together to explore what has bought you to therapy and how we might work together. You may know why you are here but you may also just feel 'stuck' in a job, in a relationship or feel generally anxious or unhappy. Or feeling like you don't know where you are in your life and lack meaning and purpose.
It is a good idea to have a quick chat over the phone first of all - we can discuss what is going on for you and how therapy can offer you..
I offer a free phone initial consultation session on 07502 222496.
Daytime, evening & weekend appointments available.
I also offer online or phone sessions if you prefer although I would like to meet with you initially if possible.
