About me

Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile.  I am an experienced counsellor and coach, having worked in this field since 2010,  initially as a coach then training in integrative counselling & psychotherapy.  I am passionate about helping my clients to lead meaningful and happy lives, overcoming any barriers which hold them back, helping them make real and lasting change. I always work with my client, helping them to 'help themselves' which is a much more empowering way to work.

Why Counselling and Coaching combined are so powerful

As a Psychotherapist and Counsellor, I can focus on deep and lasting psychological healing and change whilst also having the skills of a Coach to work in practical ways to help you develop your strengths and plan a better future.

With over 20 years experience in education, I became very aware of the importance of mental well-being and how stress can impact on the emotional and mental well-being of young people, parents and teachers. This is what led me from teaching to therapy and coaching, knowing how important it is for people to be able to express their feelings and to deal with old and current issues before they can move forward with their lives.

Few people escape from some level of anxiety, stress, trauma, broken relationships or bereavement in their lives. I provide a safe space for you to explore the past, express your thoughts and feelings and develop a greater awareness of what is going on in your life, finding your way to a more positive future.

What to expect in your first session.

I provide a supportive confidential space for you to talk through your concerns, to develop a better understanding about yourself and to help you find your own answers. I know it is sometimes difficult taking that first step and will always try to ensure you feel listened to and supported.

We will use our first session together to explore what has bought you to therapy and how we might work together. You may know why you are here but you may also just feel 'stuck' in a job, in a relationship or feel generally anxious or unhappy. Or feeling like you don't know where you are in your life and lack meaning and purpose.

What now?

It is a good idea to have a quick chat over the phone first of all - we can discuss what is going on for you and how therapy can help you. There is no obligation here and I would be the first to say if I thought we could not work well together.

I offer a free phone initial consultation session on 07502 222496. You can also  email me here  to get in touch.

Daytime, evening & weekend appointments available.

I also offer online or phone sessions if you prefer although I would like to meet with you initially if possible.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Further information

Having worked in primary education for many years, I have considerable experience working with children, especially those with special educational needs. I have also worked for several years as a counsellor for young people (13-25) which means I have a breadth of knowledge on the challenges which present for children and young adults.

As an experienced Hypnotherapist, this allows me to work at an even deeper level, which can help even more when used together with counselling or coaching.

Over the years, I have helped clients with many issues, in particular anxiety, depression, stress, panic attacks, relationship issues, bereavement, smoking cessation and other issues.
