I am here to listen! Qualified and Experienced to therapeutically help people with many issues including: Adolescence, bereavement, Feelings of unrest, Crisis, Trauma, Stress, Loss, Anxiety, Depression, Anger, Relationship issues, Addictions, family issues and many more.
As a Person-Centred Therapist I will not tell you what to do or how to do it. I will listen and offer a caring, empathic, non-judgemental understanding counselling service. It is in this caring atmosphere that you can gain an understanding of your self, enabling you to make changes where you desire.
Sometimes it is difficult to access self understanding through narrative alone. When this happens I can offer more creative ways of working. e.g. with colours, cards, games, play or through art. Some people find it easier to write or draw their experiencing. Creative means and play are always my way of working with children
Training, qualifications & experience
In addition to my qualifications in Counselling & Supervision I have training working with the experience of trauma, D.I.D, loss and extensive training and experience working with adolescence and children. Years of working has provided me with experience of supporting people experiencing many issues.
I have 5 year experience of managing a counselling service within a local charity and now I co-lead on a not for profit community interest company offering counselling and emotional support services for groups, families and individuals aged 6 years and over.
In these roles I have offered mentorship and in-house supervision to volunteer counsellors and counsellors in-training.

On a more personal note:
I enjoy being creative; through art, needlework and gardening. I love to express my creative side that I am happy to use within my counselling work if the client wishes. The rest of my free time is spent reading and enjoying my time with my youngest daughter and grandchildren. Now that I am in my middling years my hopes and ambitions for the future are less around self-achievement and more around supporting others to achieve their possible potentials. I have an ambition of making a difference.
