About us

Hi, my name is Joy. Through working with NHS, I have supported clients from diverse backgrounds, addressing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, bullying, insecurity, loneliness, guilt & shame, bereavement, anger, communication and relationship difficulties, attachment issues, high sensitivity, unresolved childhood trauma, generational trauma, bullying, anger management, over-consumption, lost motivation, work related issue, life transitions and managing ADHD symptoms.

Training, qualifications & experience

As an integrative counsellor, I use different therapeutic methods, combining them to suit what works best for each person.

With a foundation in person-centred therapy, I create a warm, non-judgmental space where clients can explore difficult thoughts, emotions, and unresolved issues. I help them reconnect with their values, build self-worth, and clarify their beliefs, empowering them to move forward with confidence and a stronger sense of identity.

My training in psychodynamic therapy allows me to explore the unconscious processes and behavior patterns that influence my clients' thoughts and actions. By understanding how past experiences shape the present, I help clients gain insight into their emotions and behaviours. This awareness enables them to recognise how past events impact their current challenges and find ways to overcome obstacles, leading to positive change.

Believing in the power of existential therapy, I guide my clients in examining life’s meaning and purpose, helping them find more fulfilment and direction, while encouraging them to live authentically by staying true to their own values rather than what was expected.

Member organisations *

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
