About me

I am able to offer sessions on Skype, FaceTime, WhatsApp, Zoom and Teams.

I see clients individually or in couples, who are suffering from all kinds of anxiety and unhappiness, or are feeling lost or stuck. You may be having problems at work, with self-esteem or in your relationship with a partner or friends. You may need to work through trauma, including bullying and relationship loss. If you are a couple, I will help you to analyze what has gone wrong; and have you learn to nurture your relationship by thinking together and working out how to support each other.

I integrate several types of psychotherapy (analytic, humanistic, existential, CBT). For physical and emotional traumas, I can offer EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) in-person and online. I was formerly a lawyer and academic (PhD) and I have been in business. You should find my work intelligent and practical.

I do not want you to pay before you know what working with me is like, so I offer without charge an initial session of up to 80 minutes. This will give you an idea of how I practise and some early indication of how we would focus our work together. Together we will identify what might be stopping you from reaching your full potential and what action you need to take to improve your situation.

I practise both in London W1, close to Regents Park and Great Portland Street Stations; and in Wenhaston, Suffolk, near Halesworth and Southwold.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
