About me

I have many years experience of counselling and psychotherapy working with individual adults, young people and couples with a broad range of issues, helping them gain insights into their difficulties and working with them to find a way forward. Everyone has their own reason for getting in touch with a therapist, I see people with all sorts of difficulties and issues including, but not limited to, those listed below:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Relationship issues
  • Family issues
  • Low self esteem
  • Phobias
  • Affairs and betrayals
  • Separation and divorce
  • Abuse
  • Emotional abuse
  • Couples issues
  • Anger management
  • Work stress
  • Bereavement and loss
  • Trauma
  • PTSD
  • Parenting issues
  • Low self confidence
  • Personal development

For most people this is the first time they have consulted a counsellor or psychotherapist and they may be understandably apprehensive. So the first step is to talk on the phone or to arrange an initial meeting, this will give you a good idea of what to expect and to see how it feels before taking the decision to continue. The initial meeting is an opportunity for me to find out more about you and help you identify what approach is going to be most helpful – I am able to offer a variety of options for working together depending on your individual needs.

My welcoming practice rooms provide a comfortable place for us to meet and discuss in confidence what is troubling you. When unable to meet in person I offer the ability to work over secure online channels, please contact me on 01892 537999 to find out more.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
