Over the years as a Befriender and Children's worker I have helped people through many life events. I worked in the voluntary sector for a drug project and it was here that I gained an interest in Counselling.
Training, qualifications & experience
During my training I worked for three agencies providing counselling to the local community. I worked with people experiencing depression, anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder, childhood trauma, abuse, eating disorders, addiction and major life events including, loss, divorce, relationship problems and work related stress. I am committed to ongoing Continual Professional development so that I can remain fresh in my approach to helping my clients.
I have studied a wide range of theories and models during my extensive training. I specialise in childhood trauma, anxiety and self esteem issues.
I have many life experiences as well as counselling experience. I am an ACC Registered and accredited Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, BSc, (Hons) and a counsellor member with PODS, Positive Outcomes for Dissociative survivors. I run my private practice from home in a private room dedicated to my clients. I am committed to continued professional development.
