Leonie Bruce. Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. EMDR Therapist. BABCP Acc.
We can all experience difficult periods in our life when our methods of coping start to become less effective and lead to unwanted mood changes and anxieties. At times like these therapy can help. I specialise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and EMDR, two therapies with a strong evidence base to demonstrate their effectiveness in the treatment of a wide range of mental health diagnoses. As adaptable and active therapies, they can help to reduce distress, build resilience and facilitate positive change.
I have over 20 years experience as a health care professional, 11 years of which have been dedicated to working in specialist adult mental services offering therapy on a 1:1 basis using these approaches. I feel that my experience enables me to offer a comprehensive service that achieves results.
I am trained in offering therapy for a range of diagnoses and difficulties which includes; Depression, Trauma (PTSD) , Generalised Anxiety, OCD (intrusive thoughts & obsessions), Phobias, Panic Disorder, Health Anxiety, Body Dysmorphic Disorder, Pain Management, Long Term Health Conditions, Work Related stress, Relationship Difficulties and issues related to low Self Esteem.
I provide a caring and collaborative approach in a safe environment, which allows the individual to explore and develop skills in managing their psychological wellbeing.
I am happy to speak to you prior to an initial meeting to discuss your difficulties and explore how I am able to help you.
I am able to provide appointments on the weekend. I can also offer telephone and video call appointments.
I welcome contact / referrals via email and telephone.
