Leigh-Catherine Inglis MBACP
There can be times in our lives when we can feel overwhelmed by current or past situations, perhaps feeling isolated in our thoughts and feelings, maybe presenting difficult behaviour or receiving it from others, are you repeating patterns of behaviour that result in the same negative consequence.
My aim as a person centred counsellor is to offer you a confidential and non-judgmental space to explore what is going on for you, understanding the meaning of what is happening, finding purpose in the present and for the future.
I feel that by understanding the difficulties that you may face as well as the need to trust someone enough to disclose thoughts and feelings that you have never told anyone is of deep importance for growth to take place.
I believe that the most powerful way for one to learn is through discovery and I hope that by providing a confidential, non-judgemental and trusting space, I can help you gain a deeper understanding of the difficult situations in which you can or may find yourself.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an experienced and qualified Counsellor offering open-ended and short-term therapy using a person centred approach to adults, young people, children and families.
With my own personal background and experience, I can also offer a more specialised service which cover sensitive issues such as:
- Mixed Marriages
- Long term illness
- Relationship problems
- Domestic Violence
In addition to my private practice work, I have worked at a Grammar school in Buckinghamshire as School Counsellor for students and staff. I am now currently working at West Herts College.
My work with young people involves helping them express their feelings in a safe way, gain mastery over difficult emotions, test out new ways of being and problem solve. From this they can gain confidence, build self-esteem and improve their resilience and communication.
