Whilst a clients may be familiar with CBT, they may be unfamiliar with TA.
TA is model of psychotherapy which was developed in the US in the 1960s and quickly became popular in the UK and across the world. TA, can be best described, as a theory of personality and relationships based on a study of specific ego states, a theory of social interaction or interpersonal communication and system of group and /or personal growth and personal change. TA incorporates elements of Cognitive and Behavioural therapy, hence I believe both modalities compliment one another, and was one of the reason why when I decided to do further psychotherapy training I choose TA.
