Leah Williams is an integrative counsellor whose skills rely on approaches from Psychodynamic, Person-Centred and CBT.
She is a qualified Counsellor working towards her accreditation and is a registered member of the professional body BACP. Leah’s specialities draw from her 13 years experience working in the NHS setting.
As an integrative counsellor, Leah can asses the problem areas brought and determine the therapy best suited to the client’s needs. At The Awareness Centre (TAC) Leah has worked open-ended and short-term with NHS Patients referred from GP surgeries. She has now moved to the private practice at The Awareness Centre.
Training, qualifications & experience
Leah studied and worked hard to gain her diploma in therapeutic counselling as well as a diploma in CBT therapy. Working in very challenging placements with high risk clients.
She is a qualified therapist/counsellor and fully registered member of BACP, Who is working towards her accreditation.
Leah has worked for the NHS for over 13 years as a Co-ordinator starting in cancer and urology clinics. She now enjoys running antenatal clinics at the hospital. Leah joined TAC in 2017 as a NHS counsellor. She has gained vast knowledge working in what can be a very challenging environment. She hopes patients/clients leave feeling they have been heard and have the best experience they can in what can be upsetting and stressful situations. Leah previously worked for CGL Bromley (previously CRI Bromley) carrying out counselling for drug and alcohol addiction. Leah previously counselled students at South Thames College for over 4 years.
She has worked with many problem areas and client groups from addictions, relationships, high risk, family, cultural, anxiety, depression, LGBT, suicidal thoughts, adoption, care system and much more.
