Leanne Astbury - BA PGDip Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
A therapist with a passion for helping adults build self-worth to reduce symptoms of Anxiety and Depression
Our experiences throughout life can determine how we view ourselves, how we view the world and other people in the world. If some of these experiences have been negative, this can affect the way we think about ourselves and can manifest the way we behave as a result.
Having low self-worth, can have a harmful effect on our mental health and all aspects of our lives.
- Some common signs that you may have low self-worth-
- Feelings of hopelessness and unworthiness
- Feeling unlovable
- Doubting your abilities
- Putting other people's needs before your own, leaving you feeling frustrated
- Self-critical/Self hatred
- Worrying about being able to do things
- Putting off following a dream through fear of failure
- Finding it difficult to say how you feel
- Worrying what others think about you
- Finding relationships difficult
If all or some of these describe your current situation, then Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) could benefit you.
I will help you understand your difficulties and work with you at making the changes required for a happier, more confident you. I work with all adults, but specialise in working with males that have little or no self-worth and may be experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety as a result.
With proven experience supporting people in a therapy setting, I am able to gradually empower, encourage and support clients to develop the necessary skills to solve their problems using their own resources. My therapy can provide people with specific skills, that they can use for the rest of their lives.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or CBT, is a talking therapy based on the theory that our thoughts, feelings and behaviour are all connected. If we can change one of these we can alter the others.
