How Counselling can help.
I'm Leah and thank you for taking time to read my profile.
From past experience I know it can be hard reaching out for help. Counselling for me changed my life, and this is where my journey as a counsellor began. Whether you are experiencing a crisis, traumatic event, or a recurring difficulty, it can be helpful to get support rather than struggling on your own. I am a qualified person-centred counsellor, offering both short and long term counselling to adults, young adults, teenagers and children. I work with clients in an integrative way, this may include looking at your past and present situations. Working together at your own pace, we can find ways to further understand yourself and your potential.
I work with all forms of difference sensitively in the room, and specialise in working Neurodiversity. Whatever your needs are, I offer a relaxed, non-judgemental, confidential space for you to explore whatever you would like to get support with. I believe that each person is unique and focus my work to fit with your individual needs.
In addition to my private practice, I provide counselling for a local charity organisation, working with adults, teenagers and children. I also work with ABC children's therapy, providing parent & child Psychotherapy, healing & SEN support. My core therapy is predominately Person-Centred, however, i also draw on additional theories such as (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Sand tray, Creative Therapy and Mindfulness). I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

When I work
If you think you would like to arrange an initial meeting to see whether you feel that counselling with myself would be right for you, then call or message me and we can arrange a suitable time. At this meeting I will explain the counselling process and if we both feel it will be beneficial we can arrange regular sessions. If I am unable to answer straight away to you, I will contact you back within 48hours.
