About me

I am a BACP accredited, integrative counsellor with 15 years' experience counseling people of all ages. I have helped many people with issues such as anxiety, depression, past abuse, bereavement, confidence issues, relationship difficulties, phobias, also those with conditions such as OCD, GAD, PTSD towards recovery and improved mental health and I have particular experience in counselling young people and adults with anxiety and depression. I have found that the integration of various approaches, such as person-centred or CBT, depending on the nature of the problem, is the best way to help.

Sometimes people feel completely alone and it feels impossible to be happy.

When we first meet I will help you to feel at ease and we will work out how best I can help you towards recovery. Then if you are happy to continue we will book in for the second session. I am available on Saturdays and can offer short term (up to 8 weekly sessions) or longer term therapy. Each session will last an hour. If you would like to book an appointment please give me a ring or email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Training, qualifications & experience

Higher National Diploma in Counselling 2004, L4 Diploma in Counselling Children & Adolescents 2014.

I have been working as a counsellor and coordinator at a local college since 2004 and have built up a wealth of knowledge and experience of helping individuals including mature learners with mental health problems. I am able to refer to other services as well as counseling if needed, such as for assessments for autism or specific treatments to help with eating disorders. I have developed particular skills in CBT to help people with anxiety and depression.

I have also been working as a child therapist since 2014 and provide a relaxed safe space in which children can play and be creative to express their emotions. I provide therapy for children aged three and above.
