About me
Hi and welcome – I’m Laurie and I’m passionate about supporting you to create more confidence, purpose and joy in your life.
Do you find yourself feeling overwhelmed and weighed down with:
- anxiety
- self-doubt
- scared of never being good enough
- dreading change and uncertainty
Grief, loss, change and trauma (whether recent or historical) can leave us disorientated and disconnected, causing us to get stuck in cycles of:
- perfectionism
- struggling to say no to others
- putting everyone else’s needs before our own
- feeling unable to connect with or express how we feel
- chronic busyness
If this resonates with you, chances are, you're stuck in survival mode. When life experiences are left unresolved, loss, change and trauma will trigger these old wounds, adding to our anxiety, frustration and distress.
My Specialisms
Grief, Loss & Change - Grief isn't just for when we have experienced a death. It also shows up when we experience a relationship break-up, a shift in career, a change to our identity/circumstances/relationships, abortion or termination for medical reasons - to name just a few.
Grief & Loss in Young Adulthood - Navigating grief and loss in our 20s and 30s can come with a unique set of challenges. This is a specialist area of interest in my work and I bring with me personal experience, alongside extensive research to support you through the additional complexities.
Childhood Emotional Neglect - Not having our emotional needs met as a child is a hidden trauma. This can often show up in adulthood as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and people-pleasing. I can help you to recognise this type of relational trauma and support you through the process of grieving the relationships you needed but didn't have.
Whatever your experience, I will meet you where you are at in your process, without judgement, suggestions or platitudes.
My Practice
I use a relational, mind-body approach, tailoring our work to best suit your needs.
Together, we can help you to:
- Understand and make sense of your experiences and how they are impacting you.
- Regain your sense of self, confidence, purpose & power.
- Break free from unhelpful coping mechanisms such as perfectionism, people-pleasing and busyness.
- Rewrite unhealthy patterns of connecting with others which formed through past trauma, conditioning and adverse experiences.
- Rebuild self-compassion, trust and inner safety.
I have worked with a wide range of “heart-led, deep-thinking” clients', who have left feeling:
- more connected to themselves
- less weighed down by their experiences
- more aware of their own needs and what's been keeping them stuck
- less anxious, overwhelmed and depressed
- able to approach life with more self-compassion

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
