Therapy is not always about feeling better initially, but a great deal about getting better at feeling. I can help my clients to work with their emotions by helping them to develop cognitive, emotional and behavioural strategies in a non-judgemental and empathic atmosphere. I am committed to helping my clients help themselves by exploring their psychological problems and empowering them to make changes for themselves.
I am a rational-emotive and cognitive behaviour therapist accredited with the BABCP and the Association for Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy. I am experienced in working with a wide range of emotional issues including depression, anxiety (including social, panic, obsessive-compulsive disorder and phobias), low self-esteem, self-harm and eating disorders.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a BSc in Psychology and a MSc in Rational-Emotive and Cognitive Behaviour therapy. I have experience working in the private mental health sector for 8 years and the charity sector in the past 3 years. I work with insurance companies also. In addition to these therapy models I have experience of working with individuals who struggle with emotional regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal skills. I help individuals to implement mindfulness in different ways to benefit them.
