About me
Lauren| Registed Psychotherapist| Individuals & Couples
Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when you're not sure where to begin. With so many therapists offering different approaches, it’s hard to know what’s best for you. Hi, I’m Lauren, a counsellor/psychotherapist (these terms are often used interchangeably), and I work with individuals and with two people — in person, over the phone, and online — helping them navigate a range of challenges.
I work with relationships in all their forms. This might mean romantic couples, but also siblings, parents and adult children, friends, or any other meaningful connection that feels strained, stuck, or in need of support. Therapy isn’t just for couples — it’s for any relationship where two people want to understand each other better and move forward differently.
I’m trained as a person-centred counsellor, which simply means I focus on you and what you need. I won’t push you to talk about things you’re not ready for, and there’s no set agenda in our sessions. The space I provide is for you to express yourself freely and start to understand your feelings and experiences at your own pace.
I know that choosing the right therapist can be daunting, especially if you’ve never tried therapy before. The most important thing is finding someone you feel comfortable with. If you don’t feel safe or able to trust the person you're working with, therapy won’t be as effective. That’s why I offer a free, no-obligation introductory call (I really do mean no obligation at all). This gives us a chance to chat about how I work, what you’re looking for, and whether we might be a good fit.
If you think I could help or if you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out. There’s no such thing as a silly question—whether by email or WhatsApp, I’m here to help however I can. Good luck with your search, and remember, therapy can be life-changing. I’ve seen it make a real difference for so many people.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
As someone with a personal connection to donor conception, I work closely with individuals within the donor conception community.
This includes supporting donor-conceived individuals—whether you found out early in life or later on, whether the information was shared openly or kept from you. Each journey is unique and can bring up a complex mix of emotions that are sometimes hard to name or make sense of. These feelings can evolve over time, and it’s okay if you’re still figuring them out.
I also support parents of donor-conceived children at all stages of their journey—whether you're just considering donor conception, preparing to talk to your child or loved ones, or navigating ongoing conversations with family or a donor.
I work with individuals as well as with pairs—this might be a couple, a parent and child, siblings, or even a donor and their donor-conceived child. If a relationship feels strained, confusing, or in need of support, I can help you navigate that space with care and sensitivity.
Having walked this path myself, I know how isolating and overwhelming it can sometimes feel. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you think I might be able to help in any way. You don’t have to go through it alone.
