About me

Hello my name is Lauren, and I am a qualified humanistic counsellor who adheres to the BACP ethical framework.

I work with children aged 11+, young people, and adults on a one-to-one basis. I am experienced in working both short term, long term and open ended depending on each client's needs.

I provide a professional and confidential counselling service which ensures my clients welfare is of my primary concern. My aim as your counsellor is to offer you a safe space and a relationship where you feel understood and accepted to then enable you to explore, change and develop a deeper self-awareness.

Working from a humanistic perspective I believe that everyone is a unique individual and that their experience is the most important aspect. I do not view myself as an expert in your world and will therefore not give advice or tell you what to do. Instead, I will do my best to understand your experience and work collaboratively with you to empower you to reach your full potential.

Alongside my private practice I work for an organization that offers support and counselling to neurodiverse individuals with autism and ADHD traits. I also have experience of volunteering for local charities counselling children and young people, and survivors of sexual abuse and trauma.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
