About me

If you are looking for help and support with your mental health, well done on taking the first step! Life can be difficult and we could all use a little extra support. I work as an integrative therapist and firmly believe you are the expert on your own life. I offer a warm, welcoming, non-judgmental and safe space where you can explore your vulnerabilities and feel comfortable to talk about them.

It is important to choose the right therapist for you. I offer a free 10-minute consultation where I can give you all the information you need to make an informed choice.

I firmly believe the most important aspects of counselling are confidentiality and the therapeutic relationship between you and me. It is important for this relationship to be built on trust and respect.

I offer online counselling which means you can have your sessions within the comfort and familiarity of your own space.

what to expect from your first session - your free 10 minute consultation will give you the opportunity to ask any questions you have about therapy. I will explain how sessions will go and we can get to know each other a little better. If you decide I am the counsellor for you, our first 50 minute session will include discussing the counselling contract and collecting some background information about you. You do not have to share anything you aren’t comfortable with but please remember this is a safe, non judgemental space.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor which means I work using a blend of three modalities. These are person centred therapy, psychodynamic therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

NCPS
National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS)

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
