About me

At this difficult time of Coronavirus I am extending my services, offering clients a safe thinking space together.  An initial 10 minute phone chat at an agreed time enables you to tell me a little about yourself, your children, your individual, couple or family difficulties.

Clients' difficulties and mental health diagnoses include:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety and fears
  • Confusion
  • Pathological boredom and high expectations
  • Disappointment (clients can be at a complete standstill/block).
  • Relationship and attachment difficulties
  • Birth trauma and postnatal depression
  • New parents' expectations, disappointments, anxieties, joys
  • Dads or Mums grieving separation from their children
  • Couples' anger and disappointment. This includes the feeling of 'stalemate' when you would actually like to have a think together about getting back together, but you can't see a way forward through all the past historical mess.
  • Loss, Separation, mediation and divorce
  • Bereavement: so much of our pain is traceable to our earlier bereavements.
  • Safe, agreed boundaries in the sessions help clients feel heard, acknowledged and safe enough to say difficult things for instance to family members, helpful where teenagers feel angry and misunderstood in separated families.
  • Both parents and adolescent/child are offered the opportunity to work towards safe sessions altogether in order to help sort out confusing feelings.

"There is a real shift in our feelings about how we can work things out together now" (one family's evaluation).

  • SPRING 2020: £60/£80.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

HCPC

Health and Care Professions Council

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Accessibility

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

Wheelchair user access

A short flight of stairs may regretably preclude disabled clients.
