About me

Welcome to LifeLine Counselling.

LifeLine Counselling provides face to face long and short term Person Centred Counselling to individuals, couples, qualified counsellors, counselling students and EAP referrals.

Taking the first step towards counselling can be a difficult decision.....if you are struggling...come and talk.

I will welcome you with warmth, without judgement in a safe setting, where I will work and listen with respectful compassion. I am a warm and caring Counsellor with a genuineness towards others.

It can take courage and strength to come and explore what may have become a very difficult situation for you.  By finding the space to share, self confidence and self worth has chance to develop,  Beginning to understand your thoughts and feelings, choices will become apparent, encouraging you to move forward and make changes with increased strength and direction.

My practice is grounded in the Person Centred approach offering you the opportunity to share your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs that have brought you to seek counselling.

Your counselling journey is unique to you and there is no right or wrong way to begin your counselling. From the very first moment and throughout your personal journey, I will be with you to listen and work hard at encouraging a deeper and clearer understanding of your circumstances and choices.

Many people have found counselling a helpful and nourishing way of exploring issues and difficulties in their lives. Through this process, new perspectives are discovered and ways of managing daily life, creating improved self awareness and confidence which encourages a deeper level of personal satisfaction and inner peace.

Are you feeling as though you need some support,  perhaps unsure where/who to turn to...?

Now might be the time to make contact and coming to talk could help.

Perhaps you may be finding it hard to cope with life in general, particularly if you have feelings of low mood or depression, perhaps finding it difficult to manage a specific concern in your life or life in general.  You may find it easier and more helpful to talk with someone face to face outside of your immediate social or family circle.

"Discover your own personal journey to find the courage to change and move forward  - taking time to talk is worthwhile"

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
