About me

If you are reading this then you are contemplating moving forward, despite whatever difficulties you are facing. It can be an anxious time deciding which counsellor to go for however I can offer you a safe, caring and confidential environment to explore the issues and emotions you may be struggling with. It can all feel overwhelming at times, however, having a regular non-judgmental space to understand yourself can be hugely transformational.

Often difficult past experiences, traumas and relationship problems can be buried and then triggered in the present when there are more challenging circumstances. I will work at your pace, providing a safe space to explore what is troubling you. Putting down the weight you are carrying and sharing the load can often feel like a relief.

It may feel hard to find yourself amongst the turbulence of life, however having a space to talk without judgement can be really powerful. It can facilitate a more in-depth understanding and awareness of yourself. This will then support you to work towards a more fulfilling and peaceful life.

Counselling is more important than ever with the ongoing pandemic, having regular sessions remotely can be very beneficial and supportive in helping to manage how you are feeling and what has been triggered by this unsettling time.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I have experience and an interest in areas such as: Anxiety, Trauma, Parenting issues, Finding your authentic self, Loss and bereavement, Critical inner voice, Imposter syndrome and Boundaries (self-care and relational).

During this pandemic I have moved my practice to online via zoom sessions or on the telephone. I work during the day and my availability is changeable.  Once you make contact I can let you know which slots are available and hopefully we can find a match that is suitable for both of us.
