About me

Confused, sad, overwhelmed by life’s issues and not sure which way to turn? Or looking for a new mindset to deal with the problems, hurts and anxieties that are weighing you down? The fact that you are here, seeking, suggests you’ve already made the hardest decision – that you want to change.

I believe that Talking Therapies is about finding creative paths forward. Whether you want to work mindfully with a particular issue short term over 8-10 counselling sessions or take your time to explore something much deeper, it is about taking that leap of faith and journeying into self. It’s the start of a great personal adventure of discovery, an investment in yourself.

My work is about creating the right environment for you, whether you are a man or woman, to feel safe and confident to unpick the complex issues that underpin your current dilemma. This is about working with you rather than forcing you into a particular theory. As an integrative therapist I’ve trained in the different approaches but I will call on these, such as CBT, Gestalt, or Mindfulness, as and when they are needed. I have an interest in Jungian theory and working with dreams, and have an Advanced Certificate in Dream Interpretation.

I suggest 10 sessions works well for tackling something short term or to establish the essential therapeutic relationship if you want to explore something in more depth. We will have a review at session 5 and 10 to ensure we are on the right tracks. If you have come for short term counselling we have a proper ending session at week 10 but you can proceed for a further amount of time if you feel that’s suitable for you.

My approach is flexible and nurturing, helping you find choices in your life again and a sense of empowerment.
