About me

I provide a safe space for you to work through whatever may be troubling you.  I aim to walk alongside you every step of the way on your therapeutic journey; providing you with individually tailored tools and techniques to work through your difficulties as we go along.

Although integratively trained my practice is psychodynamic in focus which involves working at a deeper level to access the origins of what is troubling you; this allows us to work with the source of the problem thus ‘getting it out by the roots’.

I consider therapy to be a process of enlightenment where we get to know ourselves better.  I am of the opinion insight is the best tool one can have in therapy; and by helping you gain a sense of understanding into what is really going on for you and where it may have originated, you can then make changes to facilitate a happier and more fulfilling life.

I am also a fully qualified relate trained couples/relationship therapist. I am to help you work through your difficulties together as you reconnect with your relationship strengthened.

I offer an initial assessment appointment where we get to know each other and I can get a feel of what's going on for you.  If you are happy and wish to continue we will review on a six weekly basis to ensure you are continuing to get what you need from our work together.

I offer flexible appointment times in the Ballymena area to include evenings and and aim to offer an assessment appointment within one week of you first contacting me.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
