About me

It can be daunting to find a therapist, I get it! I am a compassionate human first and a therapist second: I believe it’s important to be genuine, accepting, and empathetic, so you can feel safe in our work together.

Whether you are looking for short, or longer-term therapy, my goal is to help you to become your own therapist, by providing psycho-education on issues you are facing and providing you with a range of tools and techniques to manage these.

Having worked both in the NHS and the private sector this has given me a wealth of knowledge and experience in a variety of presenting issues; although I do specialise in anxiety, depression and confidence building.

I am able to offer telephone or video sessions. Please feel free to contact me by phone call, text or email ( I will respond within 24 hours) and I’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have. You can also book a free 15-minute call to chat through your needs and discuss how we can work together.

My passion has always been people, prior to becoming a CBT therapist I was a beauty therapist which has brought several unique values to my practice and what I can offer clients; such as enhanced interpersonal skills. I have had many years of experience building rapport and connecting with individuals on a deeper level which translates to being a CBT Therapist where building a trusting therapeutic relationship is crucial.

Additionally, I think I have a deeper understanding of the importance of self-care and confidence, my previous role as a beauty therapist involved helping clients feel good about themselves physically which has a direct impact on an individual’s mental health. I have a greater insight into the relationships between self-care and self-esteem which is now an area that I specialise in.

I would appreciate the opportunity to work alongside you in a way that meets your needs. This means a unique space in your demanding week, where you'll be genuinely listened to.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
