About me
Welcome
Most of us have ways of dealing with our problems but sometimes these don't work and we need to find a different way of coping. Talking to a trained counsellor can help give you a different perspective on life and help build the inner resources you need to move forward.
About my practice
I offer one to one counselling for adults and young people aged 16+, in a safe and confidential environment, where you can take the time to talk through the difficulties or issues you are dealing with. This could be stress, anxiety, low mood, depression, loss, relationship issues, abuse, low self-esteem or lack of confidence. You may not even know what the problem is but are just aware of a feeling of something not being quite right.
Whatever it is you don't have to deal with it on your own.
I am approachable and non-judgemental and I will listen to anything you have to say without telling you what to do or how to live your life. We will explore your concerns, their impact on you, and find a way forward together.
I am based in central Basingstoke, within walking distance from both the train and bus stations and there is off-road parking available.
Getting started
Give me a call or email me if you have any questions or would like to arrange an initial consultation.
During our initial meeting we can discuss what you are looking for from counselling and what the process entails. If you would like to continue we will then arrange to meet weekly at a time that is convenient for you.

What to expect
The relationship between you and your counsellor is really important, after all, you could be talking about something that is really difficult for you. That is why I offer a free initial session. You can then get an idea if counselling is what you are looking for and whether you feel comfortable talking to me.
We will work at a pace that feels right for you, that gives you an opportunity to reflect and explore your concerns and worries. Sometimes short-term focussed therapy (approx 6-12 sessions) is appropriate and sometimes a longer term approach is more beneficial as it gives the opportunity to explore concerns in more depth.
