Accessing counselling is a big step that takes courage and a commitment to yourself. I want to help you build on that first step to enable you to change the things you are unhappy with and accept the things that you cannot change.
I am a fully qualified person-centred counsellor. I work with individuals on issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and bereavement.
I offer a free 30 minute no obligation consultation which is an opportunity for you to meet with me to see if you feel comfortable talking to me.
I provide non-judgemental counselling in a safe warm environment where your feelings can be expressed freely. I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework.
Please email to make arrangements as my work with clients means I am often not able to answer the phone.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Foundation Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have worked with clients who have experienced Domestic Violence, Bereavement, Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Relationship Breakdowns and Loneliness.
I have worked with clients of all ages and backgrounds on a variety of issues. I have worked with short and long term therapy and I am experienced in bereavement counselling and have worked with people who have experienced bereavement both very recently and many years ago who have previously struggled processing grief.
I have worked in schools (both Primary and Secondary) and also colleges with Children and Young People. I have counselling experience of family issues, family dynamics, relationships, sexuality, gender identity, anger, lack of confidence, low self-esteem and school related issues.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
