About me
Hello, and welcome. Thank you for taking the time to look over my profile - I hope you find what you are looking for here.
My name is Laura (she/her), and I am an integrative counsellor based in Plymouth, Devon. I work online and face to face to offer non-judgemental, affirming, and open-minded counselling online, and face to face in my warm and welcoming office in the heart of Plymouth City Centre.
As a queer, neurodivergent woman, I bring a unique perspective to my work—one shaped by both professional training and my own lived experiences navigating the world. If you are in the position where you have noticed a need for growth, discovery, or personal development, I hope that my experience and approach may facilitate the journey you are looking for.
I take an integrative approach to my counselling work, which means that I can work flexibly, and tailor my approach with each client I meet, in the way that best suits them. All of my work is cemented in a Person Centred approach, but I also work within Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Gestalt, and Transpersonal frameworks. I invite creativity into the room where I work, when it is welcome, and always work in a client focused manner.
Training, qualifications & experience
As a fully qualified counsellor, I have completed my CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, and am a fully registered member of the BACP. I have completed hundreds of hours of client work, and have worked for some years with a local charity focussed on complex grief and traumatic loss within bereavement.
I have also worked extensively with a local mental health support charity for those approaching mental health crisis. As a result, I am comfortable with working with a range of mental health difficulties and diagnoses.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
