About me

I am a fully qualified counsellor and hypnotherapist working with adults, children and adolescents, offering individual, couple and child counselling.

My private practice is located in Kingshill, West- Malling, in a quiet location with free onsite parking and is easily accessible from Aylesford, Maidstone, Snodland, Medway, Sevenoakes and Tonbridge. I will also do home visits for clients that are unable to travel.

My approach is warm, supportive and non- judgemental, where I always work to your best interests, incorporating CBT and creative techniques and strategies if appropriate, depending on the help that is needed.

I aim to build a real and honest, person- to -person working relationship with you, in order to help tackle the issue together and enable you to make the changes that you want to make, to work through difficult emotions, life situations, or process past traumas, in order to lead a more fulfilling life.

I specialise in working with depression, anxiety, social difficulties, anger and self- esteem. However, I have trained in various areas. Please contact me to see how I can help your specific needs.

I work with children from four years old, through to adulthood. I have experience working with complex emotional difficulties in children, to self- esteem and friendship issues. I also work with children who have a diagnosis of ASD, ADHD and ODD, as well as children with a low mood, anxiety, or having experienced past trauma.

I will meet with parents for approximately 45 minutes free of charge, or a telephone call if this is your preference, to discuss your child's needs before my initial session with your child. I also require signed parental consent. Any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Training, qualifications & experience

After completing my BA honours degree in Criminology and Applied Psychology, I went on to study a Level 4 BACP accredited course at Life- Force School of Counselling in Colchester (awarded gold book standards training). This course ran over four years, where I achieved a level 4 Diploma. I undertook placements during my training working for Mind and supporting people with autism.

On completion of the course I worked two years as a bereavement counsellor and also worked in a young offenders prison, working with rehabilitation. I then went on to work alongside social services, supporting families to process past trauma and make the necessary changes to improve their lives, working with presenting issues such as anger management, depression and anxiety, mental health, loss and bereavement and relationship difficulties. I also worked during this time one day a week as a school counsellor, for a well- known organisation, offering play therapy to children aged 4 to 11 years old.

From then on I have mainly worked self- employed, however, I also worked for a different organisation, for approximately a year, that offered counselling services to Primary and Secondary schools across Kent. I now only work privately from my office, but also in schools and businesses locally, offering both short and long- term work for individuals, groups and workshops. This allows a bespoke package to be offered to schools and business that meets their individual requirements and offers a personal service, but also means services can be provided at a cheaper rate, by avoiding third party costs.
