About me

Hello. My name is Laura and I am a person centred counsellor. I understand how daunting a task it can be looking for a counsellor so I appreciate you stopping by to have a look at my profile. I am a big believer that everyone can benefit from counselling no matter what it is you have going on in your life.

Sometimes you may have a specific issue, sometimes it is a general feeling and sometimes you may be coming to counselling as you are in a good place and finally feel strong enough to tackle the things that have been holding you back. For all of these and more, I am here to listen and sit alongside you as you figure it all out.

No-one knows your life better than you and a counsellor is no exception!

What I can do is offer you a warmly held space in which to explore all the things that are taking up room in your head. By being able to go at your own pace, you get to decide what you want to focus on and when it feels safe enough to explore the parts that hurt the most.

If after reading this profile you feel we could be a good fit then please don't hesitate to get in touch. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have. Counselling offers a wonderful space to be heard and to be held which can be truly transformative.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
