About me

At times in our lives we can all experience distress. This may be due to relationship challenges, grief/loss, trauma, difficulties managing emotions, excessive worry, stress and depression. I believe that in these times we do our best to manage with the resources we have in the ways we know how. Sometimes our ways of coping can be limiting. Often we learned our coping methods in childhood and what worked for us then may not be the most helpful way to manage now in adulthood. Throughout our sessions I will invite you to explore any behaviour patterns or coping methods causing or adding to distress, explore root causes and learn new, more appropriate ways to deal with challenges in the here and now.

I work with a holistic approach to therapy, considering each client as a whole, taking into consideration your physical, mental, spiritual and emotional well-being.

Being trained as an integrative therapist, means I am trained in many different therapy methods/and modalities. This enables me to draw on different theories of practice in our sessions, making therapy a tailored fit to your individual needs. This means we could work on a psychoeducation approach, where I help you understand some theory behind our work, and incorporate techniques such as breathing, mindfulness and visualisation into our sessions.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold the following qualifications:

  • Level 4 qualification in Integrative Counselling. I have completed additional training in Transactional analysis therapy.
  • Level 3 in Humanistic Counselling.

I am a qualified Domestic abuse specialist, holding a level 3 qualification accredited by Safe lives: Domestic abuse prevention advocate.

I am qualified at level 3 in child and young person workforce giving me skills and qualifications to work with young people and good sound understanding and awareness of safeguarding responsibilities.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Additional information

I believe that we all deserve the opportunity to explore our inner selves, become more in touch with our true authentic self in a safe non-judgemental environment.

I will offer my services at an affordable rate. I practice from home delivering therapy either online or via telephone this has enabled me to reduce my rates to make therapy accessible to all.

My sessions are 50 minutes long.

I believe we all deserve the opportunity to explore who we are on a deeper level and have an opportunity to access independent professional support at times of distress. Talking to a trained professional at this time can really help. Finding a therapist who’s values are aligned and whom you feel comfortable with is highly important, as safety in the relationship is paramount to healing and growth. I will offer a 15 minute, free consultation prior to therapy to give you an opportunity to explore if my services fit your needs and our values align.
