About me

I am a person centred counsellor offering both online and face to face sessions in Lincoln.

My goal is to help you gain insight and develop coping strategies to improve your overall wellbeing, whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and much more.

I am a person-centred counsellor which means I am here to listen to you and be guided by you. I believe in creating a non-judgmental and empathetic space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without fear of criticism. I am able to offer you a safe and confidential space for you to share your story, whether this be to improve your personal well-being, explore a past trauma or simply a space to talk.  I have experience in a wide range of things including relationships, depression, anxiety, stress, issues at work and sexual abuse.

My counselling style is grounded in evidence-based theories and skills that are tailored to your unique needs. I am trained in multiple theories having completed the Diploma in Counselling Skills and theories and therefore practice as an integrative counsellor as well as person centred.   I also have a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and have experience of working with exposure therapy (using visualisation techniques) to help with phobia and anxiety disorders.   I have recently started a Children and young person Diploma course as well, which is giving me more creative ways of working if this is something you prefer.

I also have a certificate in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy which means I can work with you and help with new techniques to help manage / regulate emotions if these are becoming overwhelming for you.  DBT is great for issues such as BPD, self-harm, depression, anxiety, addictions and PTSD.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
