Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Further information

My counselling room is a private and confidential space at my home, in the Osbaldwick/Tang Hall area of York, there is parking.  Counselling provides a confidential environment where you can share the issues that you are concerned about and receive the support you need. We will work together to address the issues causing you distress and ease your suffering. I value and welcome open communication within our counselling relationship to ensure you feel on track.

In my counselling approach, mindfulness is an interpersonal ‘way of being’ with clients.  Mindfulness for me helps cultivate inner acceptance and awareness, which in turn enables me to offer a client acceptance, empathy and genuineness.

I have experience in supporting clients with relationship issues, stress and anxiety, loss and bereavement, self-esteem, sexuality, identity, isolation, and loneliness. Whatever you need to talk through, I am here for you. I am happy to offer counselling aged 16 plus.
