Dr Kyriaki Monastiropoulou, Counselling Psychologist
My name is Kyriaki but please call me Kyra. I believe that everyone’s story deserves to be heard and everyone’s truth deserves to be listened to. With this in mind, I create a safe place where you can talk about your experiences, your emotions, your thoughts and your beliefs.
My vision is to enable people of all ages and their loved ones to live fulfilling and meaningful lives by providing a reflective practice and engaging in any task that is ethically and client oriented.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have been working in the NHS and independent organisations since 2009. I have offered individual and group therapy both short-term and long-term to children, adolescents, and working adults who suffered from depression, anxiety, phobias, relationship difficulties, trauma, stress, psychosis etc.
I have been trained to use Psychodynamic theories and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) but throughout my career I have received training on other approaches such as Family Intervention for psychosis (FIP), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness.
I work in an integrative and very relational way and my approach is individually tailored to help you make sense of your experiences, and gain a deeper understanding of yourself and the world around you.
I am regulated by the Health & Care Professions Council (License PYL29100).
