Kuldeep Dhanda (MSc, PGdipCP, PGdipPT(CBT), BSc.) BABCP & BACP Accredited

About me

I have over 15 years experience of working with clients and am an Accredited (BACP) Counsellor and Accredited (BABCP) Cognitive Behavioural Therapist.

I offer a range of services from one to one Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT),  EMDR, Counselling (Person Centred / Integrative) and Couples therapy (CBT) for a range of issues. I pride myself on being able to provide a safe non-judgemental environment, where my clients feel able to express their difficulties and feelings. I believe in the power of helping others to help themselves.

I have worked with clients with a range of difficulties from bereavement, relationship issues, stress, various health issues, depression, anxiety disorders including PTSD trauma, social anxiety, panic, health anxiety, worry (GAD), phobias and pain management.

I also work with couples using a Behavioural Cognitive (CBT) approach. In particular I specialise in working with infidelity, health and mental health issues affecting relationships, communication difficulties, amongst various other relationship problems. My training and skills in couples therapy means that therapy is not simply a mirror of what happens at home. Couples therapy with me is directive to enable clients to work towards their goals and make the best decisions for them.

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a powerful and life changing therapy for many clients, with high success rates.  I use EMDR with clients who have experienced various traumas, bullying and phobias.

I offer flexible ways of working to suit my client’s needs and life styles. I am able to offer daytime, weekend and some evening appointments.

Training and Experience

I have over 15 years experience of being in clinical practise.

I started my training as a Counselling Psychologist at Roehampton University where I undertook many placements. These included working for bereavement services, community based counselling services, crisis services, student counselling services and hospital based counselling services.

After completion of my Masters and Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology, which included the clinical practise of Person Centred Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy(CBT), I went onto work as a Specialist Counsellor / CBT Therapist within the NHS.

I have worked in various NHS Trusts based in and around Kent and London and currently work part time for a Greater London Based NHS Trust. My current role in the NHS involves using CBT, Couples therapy, Counselling and EMDR. Within my NHS role, I work with clients suffering from depression, anxiety, PTSD, Panic, OCD, GAD, Social Anxiety and Health Anxiety. I also specialise in working with Pain Management and Long Term Medical Conditions.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies

The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK.

Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists.

BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
